EFT – Reiki – Indigenous Wisdom

Emotional Freedom Technique

Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping) is an alternative treatment for managing physical pain and emotional distress.  This modality relies on our body's natural desire to be whole and it uses our meridian system to make that happen.

The gist of this modality is to focus on the disturbing emotion (anger, PTSD, overwhelm, etc.) or the physical pain, acknowledge it's existence and tap on a specific sequence of points to unblock the meridians.

Why I like this modality:  EFT forces us to shine a light on what is not working for us.  We recognize the disturbing emotion (regret, for instance) and we find a way to support ourselves while working through that emotion.  We work on releasing it from our thoughts and from our physical body.  The speed at which this works is pretty amazing.

Restore balance in mind, body and spirit

Reiki is a Japanese healing technique that had been around for thousands of years before making it's way to the United States in the early 1920's.  Reiki is a holistic energy healing treatment that works on body, mind and spirit. During a Reiki session, natural healing vibrations are transmitted through the hands of a Reiki practitioner (acting as a conduit) to the body of the recipient. The purpose of a Reiki treatment is to relieve stress and pain, induce relaxation, release emotional blockages, accelerate natural healing, balance subtle bodies energies and support other medical modalities including traditional therapies.

Why I like this modality:  It is a gentle energy session that can be performed hands-on or hands-off and leaves the recipient in a comfortable, relaxed state.  Reiki is being used in most major hospitals as part of their Integrative Medicine program.

Indigenous Wisdom

Connect with your inner nature

When humans appeared on this planet, so did indigenous healing.  Since ancient times, every culture has had their "healer" to whom they would go for both physical and emotional healing.  These specialists were also known as:  medicine man/woman, shaman, sangoma and kahuna, to name a few.  An indigenous healer is able to connect with his/her Divine Guidance and work as a conduit that allows Universal Energy to direct the healing.  This modality works on many levels and can effect a change on long-term issues that haven't been resolved by other methods.

Why I like this modality:  We are ALL healers.  We can heal ourselves and we can be conduits to help others heal too.  Indigenous healing focuses on getting to the root of the problem, it doesn't just tame the symptoms.  It also works well alongside allopathic medical treatments.
